Understanding the shield’s advantages and limitations while being used is paramount to the success of the officer’s response to critical incidents; responding to various calls and deployment, moving with the shield, moving with multiple officers, and response to rescues. Student will need:

Rifle (optional)

Pistol

Three pistol magazines and three Rifle magazines

100 rifle (optional)/200 pistol ammunition

Holster with retention

Magazine carrier/pouch

Eye and hearing protection

Agency issued shield if possible

Clothing appropriate for the weather Food and water
