Our Firearms Instructor Course is dedicated to the responsible training of experienced officers in the various facets of firearms handling. This course is pivotal in enhancing your knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary for organizing and instructing firearm courses effectively. Participants will gain proficiency in diagnosing and rectifying student challenges, analyzing and scoring targets, designing dynamic courses of fire, and thoroughly documenting police firearms training. Additionally, this course guides you to develop and implement extensive firearms training programs. By the end of the course, you will have not only improved your own shooting skills but also your capabilities as an instructor.
This course fulfills the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements for the Firearms Instructor Course #2222.
A valid TCOLE instructor certification (This is the sole responsibility of the attendee to verify; RDI will not verify your certification. Any errors in this by the student, will be the sole responsibility of that individual).
Successful completion of the TCOLE Firearms Instructor qualification course on the first day of class.
Please note: No refunds will be issued to candidates who are dismissed due to failure to meet the minimum firearms qualification standards.
Application of firearms safety and understanding liability issues.
Design and execution of courses of fire.
Identification and correction of shooter problems.
Instruction in the fundamentals of shooting.
Comprehension of firing range operations and firearms instructor responsibilities.
Hearing and wrap-around eye protection.
Semi-automatic pistol with three magazines and 750 rounds.
AR platform rifle with 2 magazines and 100 rounds.
12 gauge shotgun with 50 00buck, 20 rifled slug, and 5 bean bag rounds (if available).
Duty belt, flashlight, magazine holder, and suitable holsters for a semi-automatic pistol.
Durable clothing suitable for outdoor range activities, including foul weather gear.
Gun cleaning supplies appropriate for your weapons.
Maximum students per class: 15
Class Timing: 0900-1700.
Course Fee: $600.00
This course will be reported directly to TCOLE through our partnership with TMPA.
