Intro to Pistol

This course is designed for entry level students who are interested in the safe handling and ownership of firearms for defensive purposes. The first half of this curriculum will assist the student in developing a personal and home protection plan, taking the student through conflict avoidance/ situation awareness and the body’s physiological response to conflict. The second portion will focus on handgun safety and shooting fundamentals related to defensive use of handguns with an intense focus on the safe handling of firearms, introduce the student to various options in weapon systems and conclude with a short course of fire on the range.
The course will cover:
Firearms safety
Introduction to the different types of handguns
Introduction to different forms of ammunition and uses
Range safety/ range commands
Introduction to the fundamental of firearms with a short course of fire
Attendees must bring:
Hearing protection
Eye protection
Appropriate weather gear
Snacks/ drinks
Notepad
Pen
*Own firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition if preferred
