Low Light Pistol Instructor Course
20 hrs TCOLE # 3327
The Low Light Pistol Instructor Operations course is an advanced training program aimed at law enforcement personnel who will be instructing others in operating handguns in low-light or no-light conditions. This two-day course enhances foundational skills and introduces higher-level tactics with a focus on both hand-held and weapon-mounted light sources.
The first day of the Low Light Pistol Instructor Operations course focuses on foundational skills, beginning with an overview of low-light challenges and light management. Participants review tactical advantages and limitations of both hand-held and weapon-mounted lights, practice managing these lights, and participate in live fire drills emphasizing target identification and precision shooting. On the second day, the course covers advanced tactics and instructor methodologies. It includes in-depth tactics for controlling environments under low-light conditions, best practices for teaching these techniques, and scenario-based training using barricades and vehicles. The day ends with an evaluation of the instructors’ ability to teach and apply these tactics safely and effectively.
