TCOLE PATROL RIFLE INSTRUCTOR
Responsibly training patrol officers on how to deploy rifles is of the utmost importance to ensure they can deploy with speed and fire with precision while maintaining safety and accountability. This 40-hour course is designed to prepare instructors to efficiently teach patrol rifle classes to patrol officers and recruits. This course will focus on instructor development and you will learn the techniques and skills necessary to conduct realistic training and qualifications that meet and exceed TCOLE standards for patrol rifle. This course is packed with hard learned instructor insights, tips, tricks and ways to make any of your instruction more efficient! This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Firearms Instructor Course #3323.
PREREQUISITES:
Should have successfully completed TCOLE instructor/firearms instructor or equivalent
Students should have a working knowledge of the platform and be proficient with the weapons system
Participants must pass the entry qualification course on the first day of class
(There will be no refunds for any candidate dismissed for failure to meet the minimum firearms qualification)
There are several portions of this course that are graded and could result in you failing the course including: Entrance/Exit qualification, Instructor teach backs, Drill design and running courses of fire, Written test, Safety violations

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:
ZEROED Patrol rifle that meets department policy. Optics and weapons lights are strongly encouraged.
A minimum of three rifle magazines.
Duty belt with duty handgun and at least 2 magazines. Pistol mounted lights are strongly encouraged, if your department authorizes their use.
At least one duty hand-held flashlight.
Ballistic vest and/or rifle plate carrier is strongly recommended.
Eye / ear protection
Black Sharpie
any tools needed for iron and optic sight adjustment
Gun cleaning equipment for rifle / pistol
1,000 rounds of rifle ammunition
350 rounds of duty handgun ammunition
Water and snacks
Sunscreen, bug spray, weather appropriate clothing

COURSE & EVENT REFUND POLICY:
Refunds will only be made if a class is postponed or cancelled by RDI. If a student cannot attend the class they signed up for, they will be given a half credit to another class of comparable value. No-shows without prior notice will not be given any such credit. Student substitutions will not be allowed due to an individual’s inability to attend a registered class.
Class transfer credit will only be done for one class transfer maximum. RDI reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
